Musée des Beaux Arts de Carcassonne: June 2020 – June 2021
Philippe Shangti exhibits his artworks at the Musée des Beaux Arts de Carcassonne.
After participating in the famous Venice Biennale in 2019, the artist Philippe Shangti will mark the year 2020 by his entry in the Museums of France. This new step reflects the recognition of major artistic institutions for his work and his commitment.
At the Musée des Beaux Arts de Carcassonne, Philippe Shangti has the courage to present his provocative works with transgressive and yet so classical messages.
Indeed, the exhibition “The Future is Now”, created for the Venice Biennale, is being shown at the famous Musée des Beaux Arts de Carcassonne, in the southwest of France, in addition to some thirty works by the artist from various collections.
The aim of the exhibition is to make the people who come to visit it aware of the challenges of the future, in order to protect our planet. Philippe Shangti wishes to disturb the habits of our society and to convey his messages through his monumental works, which can reach up to 5 meters high, exhibited outdoors as well as inside the museum.
As Philippe himself says, the goal of a museum is to make discover art to people who do not necessarily go to art galleries and do not necessarily have the means to acquire artworks. Numerous school visits have taken place for this exhibition as well as educational projects on the theme “The Future is Now” by Philippe Shangti.
The mayor of Carcassonne himself explains, speaking of Philippe Shangti: “A young man, whose art is imbued with all the questions of his contemporaries, draws his creative energy from the classical sources of art and exposes to our eyes, question-works with perfect aesthetics”.
